What to Pack for Greenland

If you're thinking of traveling to Greenland in Summer, you're probably wondering what you should pack. And it's important to think and plan ahead because summer in Greenland may not look like summer wherever you're traveling from. So, take a look at this clip from Visit Greenland that spells it out for you.

It's also important to know your own limits. Personally, my hands and toes get cold, so I tend to also take hand and toe warmers just in case. I found that if I'm staying active outside, I'm usually fine. But once I find myself sitting for a long period of time, like on a boat, my toes and fingers will get cold. You can find them at sporting goods stores or even on Amazon. I've tried two brands which work well for me, Yaktrax and HotHands.

Both brands will keep your hands and toes warm for up to 8 hours, sometimes longer. They really do come in handy, and I have been happy with both. HotHands also has a complete insole insert option as well. So, if you're like me, you'll definitely want to add them to your packing list.

Last summer it rained a lot during my trip, and I wished I had had a rain poncho even though everything I was wearing was waterproof. If you're carrying a backpack that's not waterproof, you'll want that poncho. I always have a rain sleeve for my camera and a waterproof cover for my phone, too.
